Core rule
Always deploy as preview, not production, unless the user explicitly asks for production.
Execution Phases
Phase 01Gather project state
Check the git remote, .vercel/ link files, vercel whoami auth status and the list of available teams.
Phase 02Pick a team
If there are several teams, ask the user to choose and pass --scope on later commands; skip if already linked or only one team.
Phase 03Link and deploy
If linked with a remote, commit and push after approval; otherwise vercel link then vercel deploy, installing and logging into the CLI if needed.
Phase 04No-auth fallback
When login is impossible, create a temporary deployment with vercel deploy --temporary and share the claim URL and expiry.
Phase 05Return the URL
Report the URL and build status from vercel ls or vercel inspect, without curling the deployed URL to verify it.
Permissions (summarised from SKILL.md)
| Capability | Needed | Details |
|---|---|---|
| File writes | Limited | vercel link creates .vercel/ link files, and git-push deploys commit the current changes; application code is not edited. |
| Command execution | Required | Runs git, the vercel CLI (whoami, link, deploy, inspect, ls) and npm install -g vercel or npx vercel. |
| Network outbound | Limited | Connects only to Vercel, the npm registry and the git remote; it does not fetch the deployed URL to verify it. |
